Become an Imubit builder.

Imubit's engineers and scientists build Closed-Loop Physical AI that writes to the APC or DCS of live process units, inside the limits plant engineers set. What you build runs on refineries, chemical and polymer plants, cement kilns and mineral processing.

Imubit builds Closed-Loop Physical AI for the process industries: refining, chemicals and polymers, cement, and mining and minerals. Our applications write to the APC or DCS of a running unit, minute by minute, and operators can take over at any time. That sets a high bar for the engineering. A model acts on a real process with mass and energy balance and hard safety constraints, and the people who run the unit every shift have to trust it.

Founded 2016, headquartered in Houston, Texas, Imubit started as a team of engineers. It has grown into a global team of machine learning scientists, process and control engineers, industry experts and enterprise software engineers, and has 7+ years of closed-loop engagement in production.

Where you would fit.

Four kinds of work around one loop: a plant's data becomes a model, the model becomes a controller, and the controller runs on the unit.

Decide what the plant should trade, and watch the model do it.

You decide which variables matter, which constraints bind and how the plant should trade one goal against another. Process engineers build the models in DLPC® Builder with no Python and no machine-learning background, and the applications run on-premise, on top of the APC and DCS the plant already has.

You would work with Operators, plant process and control engineers, and our machine learning scientists.

How we work.

Our software acts on live process units, so safety and integrity shape everything we do. We also hold to these principles.

  • Teamwork

Built on coordination, trust and support for each other.

  • Passion

For collaborating, learning and building new things.

  • Humility

We keep improving through humility and iteration.

  • Ownership

Each of us owns our own goals and the company's mission.

  • Purpose

Leadership that is purpose-driven and global in outlook, and that gives people room to lead.

  • Mission-driven

A shared belief in Imubit's mission to invent new technology for the plants our customers run.

So this, again, is about the community. This is not just about the technology. Technology is a way to advance our thought process and find new ways of doing it. Because technology is just a means, you know?

It's not the ultimate goal. It's been cool to see that there's other companies that are in the same boat. I'm here to try to understand what other companies are doing with similar problems. So it's very hard to find a real technology company that's actually making a real impact on the world.

Third is, as corny as it sounds, the people, right? A ton of smart, amazing people that I got to meet. I've learned so much and I've grown so much being around some of the smartest people I've ever met, and jumping into new topics I never thought I would have discovered. And so bringing together my love of technology and my desire to help make the world a bit better, I found myself at Imubit, and it's been an amazing run.

Until right around COVID, I joined a big company where I was the serial number, and I started chasing margin and volume. And I've never been as uninspired in my life as I was at that time. So finding Gil, finding Imubit, I kind of re-centered myself back to making an impact. And I've been here five years now, and every day I come to work, I make an impact.

My background is in electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science. Shamefully, I'm not a chemical engineer, but I am trying to learn from you all. So first, you know, I got to be empathetic to those black box vendors. We used to be one as we started.

And some people here and colleagues may remember explaining, Gil, you don't want to be a black box. They know that we're genuine people trying to help them solve problems, and I think that's really, for a product person, you can't do much better than that. But it was only when we started to release the power of our technology into the end users, to actually be empowered to build their own models and see the challenges they're facing on a daily basis, that we started to really see the unlock that's really possible here, and we're just at the surface of it. Feel free to join the team.

If you don't want to participate, that's fine, but we've got prizes. And we're actually going to use Claude Code and actually solve a real problem. The other point is, we have an aging workforce that we also talk through. It's not necessarily just talking to the folks that have been doing it for decades and have all this knowledge in their head, that they're finally at a point where they're indispensable for their respective company.

But if they want to retire, what's their legacy they're leaving behind? And now, more than ever, there's the ability to bridge that gap, catch them up, and then have them go even further. So it's a legacy play, and it's, I think, something that's gonna be really interesting to see how far that new generation takes it, and on a whole new way of solving the problems that these legends have solved for decades. So you are all the first movers in this, in my opinion.

We're the first step of what is a revolution. We push boundaries, we solve real problems, and 25 years in the industry, not everybody does that.
